Angie M. Montcalm

Estelle has studied Craniosacral Techniques with the Upledger Institute and has developed a strong background in sports medicine and overuse injuries with an emphasis in manual Physical Therapy. Her practice specializes in the non-surgical treatment of back, neck, hip, knee, and headache pain, as well as post surgical shoulder rehabilitation.

Her 24 years of practice in Physical Therapy led her to the designation of Postural Restoration Certified (PRC) in 2007 as a result of advanced training, extraordinary interest and devotion to the science of postural adaptations, asymmetrical patterns, and the influence of muscles on the body as defined by the Postural Restoration Institute ™. Her passion for Postural Restoration science and patient interventions has led to a reputation for successful clinical outcomes and the opportunity to provide in-services to physicians, physical therapists, coaches and athletes on the implementation of Postural Restoration in their practice. Estelle is trained in Golf Rehabilitation, Ergonomic Evaluations for the workplace, PRI Orthotics and specialized Exercise Prescription in Postural Restoration and Vestibular Rehabilitation.

Community Living:
Estelle works with student athletes in the Essex School District and has particular interest working with soccer, hockey, golf, and baseball players, as well as gymnasts. Estelle is very active in her community organizing the Essex Women's Soccer Program, a founding member of a women's running group, and participating in the Chittenden County American Cancer Society Walk for Life. Estelle lives in Essex with her husband and three sons.

Hobbies and Interests:
Estelle enjoys spending time with family and friends, walking with her dog, playing women's and co-ed soccer, skiing, snowshoeing, golfing, gardening, scrapbooking and traveling.

Jim Cummings

Jim’s interests lie in working with the endurance athlete through a spectrum of injuries. As an individual who has asthma, he understands some of the unique training concerns with these athletes. Jim’s focus is with sports medicine and orthopedic injuries.

Jim enjoys running, skiing, cycling, fly fishing and swimming. He enjoys spending time camping with his family. Jim lives in Underhill with his wife, three boys and two Labrador retrievers.

Casey has a strong interest and background in sports rehabilitation and enjoys working with athletes of all ages to help them achieve their highest level of function. She also is passionate about the principles of Postural Restoration and helping people achieve postural symmetry and muscular balance in order to feel and perform at their best. Casey enjoys working with individuals through the post-surgical rehabilitation journey and finds great reward in helping people meet their desired goals.

Hobbies and Interests:
Casey is a competitive horseback rider, having won a total of 5 World Championship titles with her Morgan horses at the Grand National and World Championship Morgan Horse Show in Oklahoma City. She also enjoys running, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Aliza

As a former competitive swimmer, Aliza has a love for the water and aquatic therapy. She enjoys the balance of working with patients both in the pool as well as on land. Aliza has added pelvic floor rehabilitation to her professional development and enjoys working with women to create an individualized plan to improve their pelvic health and achieve their personal goals. Overall, Aliza has a passion for helping others reach their physical goals and an excitement for serving the local community.

Aliza enjoys maple sugaring, skiing, snowshoeing, running & strength training, boating & water sports, photography, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Aliza also hopes to certify her chocolate lab, Kona, as a therapy dog!

Professional Experience:
After spending fifteen years as an Athletic Trainer, Strength and Conditioning Coach and Physical Educator at North Carolina State University, Angie has returned to her home state of Vermont to join the Essex Physical Therapy Clinic. Angie worked for eight years with a variety of different collegiate athletes developing innovative strength and conditioning programs, as well as providing analysis and corrective instruction in cardiovascular fitness, speed development and plyometric training. Her specialties included baseball, volleyball and golf. Eventually, she moved into a teaching position in the Health and Exercise Studies Department at NC State where she has taught for six years. There she instructed a variety of fitness, activity, and lecture courses. Angie brings to the clinic a vast amount of experience working with young adults and athletes. She also has great knowledge regarding geriatric populations through her involvement as an instructor in the Adult Fitness program at NC State.

Leo has been the certified athletic trainer at Essex High School for twenty years.  He enjoys working with athletes in many ways including conditioning programs, injury evaluation, and post injury rehabilitation specializing in orthopedic injuries and getting athletes back to their sport in top form.  Leo actively volunteers with many community youth sports programs and provides athletic training services for them. 

Interests:
Leo enjoys being outdoors and is an avid waterfowler.  He also enjoys coaching youth lacrosse and youth football.

Ashley Picoraro, PT

Ashley has a special interest in balance/vestibular and dance specific rehabilitation. Teaching classical Pilates and working closely with women of all ages inspired her passion for pelvic floor rehabilitation. Ashley has studied and treated pelvic floor dysfunction in Maine, her native state, since graduating from the University of New England in May of 2014. Ashley enjoys working with her patients to develop personalized goals and individualized processes for achieving those goals.

Dancing, traveling, hiking and camping with family, water sports and training German Shepherd, Archer, the newest member of the Picoraro family!

Casey Baczewski, DPT

Actively coaching Crossfit while completing her physical therapy education has provided Casey with a unique perspective on the musculoskeletal and metabolic demands of barbell and bodyweight movements. She hopes to help individuals incorporate their rehabilitative goals within their current exercise program.

Kimberly Ellsworth, PT, NTP

 
Bachelor's of Science degree in physical therapy from UVM in 1997, completed her Pilates certification through the Polestar Pilates Rehabilitation Curriculum in October of 2006 and successfully completed a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner certification program through the Nutritional Therapy Association in 2011.

Kim has worked in a variety of settings covering including acute care, subacute care, outpatient orthopedics and aquatic based physical therapy. She has continued her education in many areas including but not limited to manual therapy techniques with Therapeutic Systems Inc. and manual therapy and exercise instruction with the Postural Restoration Institute as well as a variety of nutrition, holistic health and Pilates based courses. Kim enjoys using her knowledge and experience to assist patients and clients in self-discovery of their own physical abilities and potential in creating physical balance for general health and injury recovery as well as prevention.

In her free time she enjoys anything food related cooking and creating in the kitchen trying new recipes and restaurants she also enjoys gardening, running and snowshoeing.

Alice D. Goodrich, MSPT

Alice received her Master’s Degree in May of 1993 when she graduated from Simmons College in Boston, Massachusetts. She began her college education with an undergraduate degree in Health Science at Simmons College and continued to expand her interests in sports medicine, nutrition, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, kinesio-taping, and human movement including biomechanical analysis of the golf swing and running mechanics & injuries.

An avid runner, in-line skater, long distance cyclist, and golfer, Alice continued her interests in the study of Golf Mechanics. After training with Paul Calloway, Physical Therapist and former Director of the PGA Tour and later training with Bud Ferrante, OCS, Physical Therapist, and founder of Back to Golf, Alice became Nationally Certified as a Golf Performance Therapist in 1997 and opened up two practices, one in Providence, RI and the other in Sarasota, FL. She currently works with professionals and amateurs in Sarasota, FL during the winter months, and in Vermont in the spring, summer and fall.

Additionally, Alice integrates Postural Restoration concepts in her evaluation and treatment approach since 2005.
