Essex Physical Therapy

At Essex Physical Therapy, we believe that a key component to healing and prevention is teaching the body to relax.

Classes and Camps

Wellness is a multi-faceted approach to a holistic lifestyle that encompasses the spirit, mind, and body. While Physical Therapy aims to encourage rehabilitation after injury, various wellness approaches focus on creating a stronger mind-body connection that can prevent injury in the first place. At Essex Physical Therapy, we believe that a key component to healing and prevention is teaching the body to relax. This is why we offer a variety of wellness services in order to supplement recovery and maintain an injury-free lifestyle.

Essex Physical Therapy offers Zumba & Pilates/Yoga classes to our patients and the public. In addition, we offer targeted strength & conditioning classes to Middle School and High School age athletes. We also have a Certified Personal Trainer on staff to work with you to meet your wellness goals.

About Zumba®
The Zumba® program fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves to create a one-of-a-kind fitness program that will blow you away! Our goal is simple: We want you to want to work out, to love working out, to get hooked. Zumba® Fanatics achieve long-term benefits while experiencing an absolute blast in one exciting hour of calorie-burning, body-energizing, awe-inspiring movements meant to engage and captivate for life!

The routines feature interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms and resistance training are combined to tone and sculpt your body while burning fat. Add some Latin flavor and international zest into the mix and you've got a Zumba® class!

About Pilates/Yoga
A fusion class of Pilates and Yoga. Through this class we will work on skills such as core strengthening, proper body alignment, natural flowing movement, efficient breathing, and a mind-body connection. Pilates is critical in helping us stay injury free by improving muscle balance, flexibility, and core strength. One-on-one sessions are also available and would incorporate mat and reformer exercises.

About Strength & Conditioning Camps
Instructed by Certified Athletic Trainers and Physical Therapists, these summer camps are designed for athletes who are looking to improve their performance in their specific sport. With strength training, cardio conditioning and overall flexibility exercises, our camps will get you ready for whatever sport you are looking to play.
